Characteristics of Learning
All children are active, curious and intelligent members of our centre. It is our duty to foster a ‘can do’, confident attitude to learning by providing them with a secure, warm and friendly environment that inspires them to learn, play and explore in order that they can make sense of the world around them.
All children learn and discover new things using all of their senses. They learn best by ‘doing’ and when they are interested, involved and motivated. This type of play develops key skills, attitudes and knowledge and sets the foundations for all future learning.
Play needs to be carefully planned and extended by skilled adult educators. Our specialist practitioners will build on your child’s experiences and interests in order to plan new and exciting opportunities that will support and extend your child’s learning.
The characteristics of effective learning involve:
- Playing and Exploring
- Active Learning
- Creating and Thinking Critically
