We follow Lancashire County Council’s agreed admission criteria for schools. Our school has two points of admission – September and January. Please note that the number of places available in January is often limited and places cannot be guaranteed.
The induction process is a time for us to get to know you and your child. This may be the first time that there has been a separation between you and your child and it is an important step for future separations, such as the start of primary school. We hope to make it as positive and relaxed a process as possible.
Settling into Nursery
We want your child to feel happy, confident and secure in their nursery school environment. Therefore, we have a personalised approach that enables us to share information and more importantly, it helps us to get to know each child and their family. This is where our learning partnership begins. This process includes our initial meeting with parents, home visits and induction visits. On your child’s first day we expect that your child will attend for a shorter session and that you will stay with them. Some children do find separation quite difficult and may need you to stay with them for the first few sessions.
You will be invited to come and visit us with your child so that you can familiarise yourselves with the nursery and meet the staff.
Settling in is a very individual process, so please feel free to discuss your child’s needs or any concerns with your child’s keyworker.
