Your 2-year-old child may be eligible for up to 15 hours’ free early years education starting the term after they turn 2 until the term after their 3rd birthday (it is at this point that all children receive their 15 hours’ nursery entitlement). You might be entitled to 15 hours’ free childcare if you receive certain benefits.
The 2-year-old entitlement will enable you to work in partnership with practitioners to give your child an excellent start in their learning. Where children attend high quality settings, research has shown that there is a positive impact on speech, language and social relationships.
We’re helping eligible families with two-year-olds because:
- Good quality childcare benefits children and gives them a better start in life
- Children learn through play and make new friends
- Caring and understanding staff will support them
