General Information

Our Early Years Care was set up to support Nursery School families who needed additional education and care beyond the 15 hours. Please note places within our EYC care are for Whitegate Nursery School families only.

Our Early Years Care department is open for 51 weeks of the year between 7.45 am-5.45 pm. We are able to care for babies and young children from 6 months to 4 years.

The Snug

The Snug is for babies aged between 6 months and approximately 2 years. We have a spacious indoor environment and an extended outdoor environment where practitioners provide a wide range of experiences for babies to enjoy within a safe and nurturing setting. Practitioners are sensitive to babies’ needs and are flexible to their individual routines.

Home Link Diaries are an interactive record of your child’s activities.  We encourage parents to read and comment on the entries and to update us on their child’s likes, interests and activities away from the Centre.  The diary is also used as a link between parent and keyworker.

Class 2/ The Den

Wrap around care for 3-4 year old’s is integrated into the Nursery School environment.  For further information please refer to the Nursery School section of the website.

The Den is for children aged between approximately 2 and 3 years. Staff have a wide range of play opportunities all planned around the children’s needs and interests. The indoor environment includes a comfortable area to rest or sleep. Water, sand and messy play is available daily, along with small world, construction, role play and outdoors. Outdoor play is available every session for the children to access freely.

As part of our assessment of children’s learning, we are using ‘Target Tracker’.  This is a computer program which enables us to track children’s progress

Class 3
